Sam Peña is a Strategic Communications Manager specializing in writing, multimedia production, and in-depth research. He joins Narrative, bringing several years of experience as an Emmy-nominated reporter. Sam’s time in the newsroom honed his curiosity and creative writing skills, enabling him to help clients tell their stories in meaningful, impactful ways.
One of Sam's most powerful stories happened while researching the foster care system in Colorado for ABC’s Denver affiliate station (Denver7). His story investigated the shortage of foster care parents and how government agencies and nonprofits were working to place children. For his in-depth reporting on the project, Sam received an Emmy nomination. Prior to his tenure in Colorado, Sam reported for ABC’s affiliate station in Chattanooga (News Channel 9), where he was honored with a Tennessee Association of Broadcasters Award. In this role, Sam focused on education and healthcare stories, researching the growing number of rural hospital closures across Tennessee.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Sam graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2021 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. During his free time, you'll find him hiking, salsa dancing, or playing chess.
