Lachlan Macdonald
Strategic Communications Manager
Lachlan Macdonald is a Strategic Communications Manager at Narrative Strategies, where he specializes in developing and executing strategic public affairs campaigns that influence opinion, shape narratives, and drive impact.
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Lachlan brings an international perspective to regulatory and reputational challenges, having worked across Australia, the UK, and Europe. Before joining Narrative, he worked at a global political consulting and corporate affairs firm in London, delivering high-stakes campaigns for clients navigating complex policy and public environments.
Lachlan has advised clients across a range of sectors, including securing better trading conditions for Australian wine producers in the UK market. He also played a key role in Australia’s Yes 23 referendum campaign—a political referendum on whether to constitutionally recognize Indigenous Australians—where he supported public engagement and advocacy efforts in a complex and polarized political environment.
Lachlan has conducted extensive focus group programs across multiple jurisdictions to uncover key audience insights, understand public behavior and motivations, and inform persuasive messaging strategies. His approach combines data-driven insights with creative storytelling to help clients communicate with clarity and purpose in fast-moving political and media landscapes.
Lachlan holds a Bachelor of Arts and Advanced Studies (Global and International Relations) from the University of Sydney.
