The strongest client work starts with connected teams—people who know one another’s expertise, learn from different perspectives, and can quickly bring the right capabilities to a challenge. Each year, Narrative brings our full team together in Washington, DC, for a week of programming culminating in our annual Offsite Day. It is a deliberate investment in how we work together and what we deliver for clients.

As Narrative has grown to more than 130 people, the range and depth of expertise across our firm have grown with it. Our fourth annual Offsite, themed “The Next Horizon,” focused on converting that growth into an advantage: stronger collaboration, deeper expertise, more opportunities for our people, and better outcomes for our clients.
Throughout the week, leaders shared lessons from their careers, and teams led sessions on capabilities including crisis response, paid media strategy, Insights, and video production. Cross-practice conversations then explored how these disciplines can work together—connecting strategic counsel, audience intelligence, creative execution, and rapid response around the challenges clients face.
For our clients, the result is a more integrated and responsive team. The team members clients work with every day leave with a clearer understanding of the expertise available across Narrative. That makes it easier to involve specialists sooner, coordinate recommendations across disciplines, and bring the right people and ideas to the table as needs evolve.
For our employees, the Offsite expands opportunities to learn and grow. It creates dedicated time to learn from colleagues at every level, build relationships across offices and practices, contribute ideas, and see the many paths a career at Narrative can take.
Growth creates opportunity, but it also carries a responsibility: to protect the qualities that made Narrative successful as the firm expands. To help us examine that challenge, NYU Professor Nate Pettit led a discussion on how organizations scale without losing what makes them distinctive. He challenged our team to identify the values, behaviors, and traditions we must reinforce—not simply remember—as we grow.
That responsibility is at the heart of “The Next Horizon.” For Narrative, growth is not an end in itself. It means deepening our expertise and relationships, creating meaningful opportunities for our people, and continually raising the standard of work we deliver for clients.
Bringing our team together each year helps turn a larger firm into a more connected one—and ensures our growth translates into smarter collaboration, stronger counsel, and greater value for every client we serve.
