Narrative Strategies Adds Advocacy and Agency Veteran Matt Moon as Managing Director

 

Six New Hires Mark Expanded Expertise and Growth at the Firm

Washington, D.C. – Narrative Strategies announced today that Matt Moon – an experienced advocacy executive, agency veteran, and political operative – has joined the firm as Managing Director. Moon is the third addition to the firm’s senior leadership team in 2023. Narrative also announced the hirings of Meaghan Johnson as Senior Finance Manager, Kat Sellers as Business Development and Marketing Manager, Madeline LaMura as Strategic Communications Manager, Emma Downey as Strategic Communications Associate, and Emma Pendleton as Strategic Communications Associate. The firm, which launched in 2019 and has been named one of PR Week’s Best Places to Work for the last three years, now has a roster of more than 40 full-time team members.

Matt Moon comes to Narrative after serving as Deputy Executive Director at the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) during the 2022 election cycle. Prior to the NRSC, he served as Vice President of Advocacy at Business Roundtable, where he crafted winning public affairs campaigns that rallied private sector support and drove passage of landmark legislation, such as the Tax Cut and Jobs Act and the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), in addition to shaping legislative and regulatory advocacy around immigration, infrastructure, and tech policy. Moon has served as Executive Vice President of Delve LLC, Vice President at Rasky Baerlin | Prism, and Senior Communications Strategist at New Media Strategies. He was also Communications Director for Governor Rick Scott (R-FL) during his 2014 re-election campaign, worked on Capitol Hill for Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), and worked in the research department at the Republican National Committee. He holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Harvard University. 

 

Meaghan Johnson comes to Narrative from Capitol Hill, where she has served as Operations Director for Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-VA). Johnson also served as Finance Director on Rep. Wexton’s 2018 campaign and was on the finance team for Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) during his 2016 campaign. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University.

 

Kat Sellers joins Narrative from GEICO, where she worked as a Training and Education Program Lead in the marketing department. Sellers managed marketing strategies, engagement, and corporate events – leading a 15-person in-house team. Sellers is a Georgia College & State University graduate, where she previously worked in events and programming for the university’s Women’s Center. 

 

Madeline LaMura joined Narrative after working at Deloitte as a Human Capital Consultant, where she served a wide range of U.S. federal government clients, supported government agency rebranding efforts, and specialized in strategic communications, project management, and change management. Madeline is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

 

Emma Downey joined Narrative as an Associate after completing a successful internship with the firm. She also interned for See.Spark.Go, a public relations firm based in Athens, Georgia. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. 

 

Emma Pendleton comes to Narrative after interning at Edelman, McCabe Message Partners, and the Federal Housing Finance Agency. She earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Virginia Tech.
