Elevating Our Game: Narrative's Second Annual Offsite

At Narrative, collaboration isn't just a buzzword – it's one of our core values. We believe in leaving our egos at the door and fostering a culture that challenges assumptions, encourages critical thinking, and recognizes that the best ideas (or "marbles," as Andrew Fimka calls them) can come from anyone on the team.

For the second year in a row, we dedicated time for our team to step away from screens and meeting schedules to focus on something equally important: investing in each other. Our annual Offsite and strategic planning sessions revolved around the theme, "Elevating Our Game" – a call to action for personal and collective growth. At its core, our Offsite aims to strengthen collaboration and enhance the quality of our work. Here are some highlights:

Drawing Up Our Strategy

Our team's exceptional expertise and creativity help us stand apart from the competition. We prioritize learning from one another and value the perspectives of every team member, regardless of their position within the company. Every year, the Offsite allows team members to host workshops and lead discussions that present new perspectives, ideas, and strategies for continuous growth.

Practice Makes Perfect

What would a sports-themed Offsite be without a bit of competition? Public affairs can feel like a contact sport, requiring persuasion, a compelling pitch, and an engaging presentation – all delivered with pace, precision, and perspective. That's why we hosted a "Shark Tank" competition at this year's Offsite. Over half of the Narrative team participated in the challenge, crafting and pitching innovative business ideas to enhance the company and our operations. We were proud to see the enthusiasm and involvement of our team!

Being a Team Captain

This year, we welcomed Sam Walker, author of "The Captain Class: The Hidden Force That Creates the World's Greatest Teams," as our keynote speaker. Sam's session shed light on the leadership styles of team captains throughout history and the essential qualities one must have to lead a team and win. We are eager to apply Sam's insights into our day-to-day, continuing to foster our culture of excellence.

Celebrating Our Wins

We wrapped up the day with an awards ceremony honoring some of the above-and-beyond achievements of our Narrative teammates over the last year. We work hard at Narrative, but we also recognize the value in reflecting on our successes and acknowledging a job well done.

As we head into the year's final quarter, we're energized and ready to take on the exciting work ahead with fresh ideas, renewed focus, and a shared commitment to collaboration. Here's to elevating our game and tackling the future together!
