Bringing the “Medtech Showcase” to Life on Capitol Hill
STATE OF PLAY
AdvaMed, The Medtech Association, is a trade association that seeks to advance the development and use of medical technologies to help achieve healthier lives and economies worldwide. Following a five-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AdvaMed tasked Narrative with leading the reboot and revamping of the organization’s signature industry event on Capitol Hill – the “Medtech Showcase.”
ACTION
To ensure that AdvaMed was well-positioned to stand out amidst a crowded field of its industry peers, Narrative developed a full suite of pre-event services and deliverables – including brand development, digital advertising, event programming, social media promotion, invitations, and website management – to lay the groundwork for a successful and well-attended event.
Narrative developed all signage and managed logistics for the event day. Once the event concluded, Narrative deployed a post-event survey to all AdvaMed members who participated to ensure member satisfaction for subsequent “Medtech Showcases” and identify ways the organization could further build on the event’s success.
Event Management – Narrative led the creation, management, and development of all the event’s integral components, overseeing every detail from start to finish. Narrative worked across the association’s departments to ensure the final event product met their goals. This included venue coordination, on-site logistics, event staffing, attendee registration, and event programming.
Brand Development & Activation – Narrative leveraged its award-winning in-house Creative Services division to refresh AdvaMed’s existing conference branding while staying true to the original visual identity that has resonated with attendees for years. In addition, Narrative deployed a full suite of creative services to bolster the event’s profile further. This included creating a highlight reel video featuring interviews from member company executives touting the conference’s success.
Digital & Email Marketing – In the months leading up to the event, Narrative developed and executed a full-scale digital advertising campaign that promoted the “Medtech Showcase” and drove registration efforts across various popular websites, news outlets, social media platforms, and more.In addition, Narrative crafted and distributed branded/designed email invitations to members, Hill staffers, and other potential attendees via Constant Contact to record RSVP responses.
Website & Social Media Management – Narrative helped manage AdvaMed’s social media channels in the months leading up to and days following the event to drive turnout and highlight key takeaways from the showcase.

By ensuring close collaboration with the AdvaMed team and prioritizing premium content across multiple platforms, Narrative successfully re-launched the “Medtech Showcase,” effectively garnering the attention of policymakers, member companies, journalists, and other key stakeholders.
