Matt Moon

Managing Director

Matt Moon is a public affairs professional with nearly two decades of experience working at the intersection of political advocacy and policy development on behalf of America’s business community and elected officials. Matt brings a competitive edge to clients, helping them achieve their goals through data-driven communications campaigns.

With deep experience spanning several policy sectors, including energy, financial services, healthcare, international trade, and tax policy, Matt supports clients in developing issue advocacy and brand management campaigns. Recently, after being tasked with an initial reputational risk assessment audit for a financial services firm, Matt created a regularly updated analysis of news and conversation around ESG policymaking, with decisionmaker-facing insights on how proposed and promulgated rules and regulations could affect those making and managing investments in private markets. These insights are now distributed to many of Narrative’s financial services clients.

A veteran of private sector policy campaigns, Matt was Vice President for Advocacy at Business Roundtable, where he helped lead private sector efforts in support of the 2017 enactment of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the 2020 enactment of implementing legislation for the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

A seasoned political operative, Matt was the Deputy Executive Director at the National Republican Senatorial Committee, where he led outreach to the business community and policy communications coordination with Senators on crucial floor votes and committee action. Matt was also Communications Director for then-Florida Governor Rick Scott’s successful re-election campaign in 2014. Prior to that, Matt served as Senior Advisor to US Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Deputy Research Director at the Republican National Committee.

Matt earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy and a master’s in History of Science from Harvard University. Matt is an amateur foodie and adheres to three “S’s”: steak, spaghetti, and sushi.
