Jesse Westbrook

Managing Director

As a Managing Director, Jesse Westbrook brings more than two decades experience in financial journalism to his work assisting clients deal with complex media inquiries and policy debates.

Before joining Narrative Strategies, he was a co-founder of Capitol Account, a daily publication on financial policy that many on Capitol Hill, Wall Street and at the regulatory agencies consider a must read. Jesse also worked at Bloomberg News for 18 years, where his final position was Managing Editor of U.S. Financial News. At Bloomberg, he oversaw dozens of reporters and editors and was responsible for spearheading coverage of some of the biggest stories involving banks, hedge funds, private equity firms, and financial regulators.

Jesse also has extensive experience as a reporter, chronicling everything from the policy battles over the Dodd-Frank Act to being Bloomberg’s Chief European Hedge Fund Correspondent during the region’s sovereign debt crisis. In 2014, he and a colleague won the Overseas Press Club’s prestigious Morton Frank Award for their magazine article on an African bribery investigation involving one of the world’s biggest hedge funds.

Jesse earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Colorado as well as a master’s degree in Journalism from Northwestern University.
