Washington, DC – Narrative Strategies today announced that Alex Romano, a veteran crisis and reputation communications strategist with over a decade of agency experience, has joined the firm as Senior Director. Romano joins Narrative from Edelman, where he counseled high-profile clients, helping them navigate crises and protect against threats to their reputations.

Narrative also announced the addition of two strategic communications managers to the firm. Paige Blanchard previously served as a political appointee at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Lachlan Macdonald worked for a global political consulting and corporate affairs firm in London.

Reputational risks and threats to stakeholder trust are increasing in today’s media landscape, and Alex’s track record of deftly navigating complex and high-stakes challenges is an immediate value-add,” said Narrative Strategies CEO and Founding Partner Ken Spain. “His decade of crisis and risk management experience will augment Narrative’s depth of talent and further enable us to answer the call for clients facing challenges of any size. Paige has gained valuable media relations and strategic planning experience working inside the federal government and on political campaigns. Lachlan’s experience working on winning public affairs campaigns in the UK and Australia will be a great asset to our clients with both a domestic and global footprint.”

As a Vice President in Edelman’s Crisis and Risk practice, Alex Romano helped navigate Fortune 500 clients through executive and leadership challenges, product recalls, cyber security breaches, natural disasters, and political controversies. Romano also developed strategies, trainings, and crisis preparedness plans that allowed companies to anticipate challenges, protecting their reputation ahead of emerging issues. Romano holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego.

Paige Blanchard comes to Narrative after three years in the USDA press office, where she supported the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and other senior leaders in disseminating the agency’s messages on a wide range of agriculture and clean energy issues. Paige started her career as a researcher on the presidential campaigns of Secretary Pete Buttigieg and President Joe Biden, the Biden-Harris Transition Team, and Senator Heidi Heitkamp’s (D-ND) reelection campaign. Paige holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota.

Lachlan Macdonald joins Narrative after most recently serving as a consultant at CT Group in London, where he specialized in executing strategic public affairs campaigns that influence opinion, shape narratives, and drive impact. Lachlan also has experience conducting extensive focus group programs across multiple jurisdictions, where he uncovered audience insights that helped inform messaging strategies and campaign tactics in both the UK and Australia. Lachlan earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Sydney.
