Washington, D.C. – Narrative Strategies today announced that Jim Secreto, an attorney and former senior White House, Senate, Commerce Department, and Treasury Department official in the Biden Administration, has joined the firm as Managing Director. Secreto will advise clients navigating complex public affairs, regulatory, and reputational challenges, drawing on extensive experience in congressional investigations, technology policy, artificial intelligence, and national security.

Before joining Narrative, Secreto served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary Gina Raimondo at the Department of Commerce, where he helped manage the Department's technology portfolio, including semiconductors and artificial intelligence issues. He also served as Counselor for Investment Security at the Department of the Treasury, helping manage Treasury's role as chair of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and advising on national security risks involving foreign investment and emerging technologies.
Secreto previously served in the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs, where he led Senate confirmation strategy for presidential nominees, including preparing senior leaders for high-stakes hearings before Congress and garnering bipartisan votes for President Biden’s nominees. Earlier in his career, he served as Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer’s top investigator during the first Trump administration. He also served as Chief Investigative Counsel to Ranking Member Tom Carper on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), the Senate’s chief oversight committee, and in the White House Counsel's Office during the Obama administration, where he advised on congressional oversight, investigations, and related legal matters.
He earned a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
