WASHINGTON, D.C. – Narrative Strategies announced today the expansion of its research and creative offerings with the addition of Senior Research Manager Jenna Simotes and Video Producer Matt Christiansen, marking the latest investment in the firm’s growing list of in-house services. Simotes brings over a decade of research and political experience to Narrative, recently serving as Deputy Research Director at the Democratic Governors Association (DGA). Christiansen joins the firm with more than ten years of experience in cinematography, editing, and motion design, and most recently served as following his tenure as Director of Photography at the National Science Foundation.
Narrative also announced the hiring of Matt Vuono as a Senior Manager. Alden Mulroy, Eric Tanionos, and Preston Harmon—each former Narrative interns—also joined as Strategic Communications Associates.
“As our firm continues to grow, we strive to solve increasingly complex challenges on behalf of our clients by investing in premium in-house services and scaling to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving media environment,” said Narrative CEO and Founding Partner Ken Spain. “Jenna’s ability to distill complex information into actionable insights and Matt’s creative eye for cinematic storytelling enhance our capacity to help clients strengthen their reputations, achieve their public affairs goals, and set themselves apart in competitive industries and crowded media landscapes.”
Before her tenure at the DGA, Simotes served as research director on Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s 2022 reelection campaign and held roles on the Biden-Harris Transition Team and at the U.S. Department of Justice. Her original investigative research has been featured in national media outlets and served as the foundation for multimillion-dollar advertising campaigns. She earned a double major in History and Political Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Christiansen’s portfolio features award-winning field and post-production work spanning scientific, legislative, and public affairs initiatives. With a background in documentary filmmaking, he specializes in turning complex topics into cinematic, emotionally resonant narratives. He holds a degree in Environmental Science from Montreat College.
Vuono joins Narrative from FGS Global, where he managed corporate crises and reputational issues for Fortune 500 companies, higher education institutions, and nonprofits across sectors including technology, retail, healthcare and financial services. He earned a degree in Government & Politics and Economics from the University of Maryland.
Alden Mulroy, Eric Tanionos, and Preston Harmon join the firm as Strategic Communications Associates after completing successful internships at Narrative. Mulroy is a graduate of George Washington University; Tanionos holds a degree from the University of Maryland; Harmon earned his degree from Anglo-American University in Prague.
