Firm Continues to Grow at All Levels with Addition of Sen. Tom Carper’s Communications Director; Riley Doyle As Newest Associate

Washington, DC – Narrative Strategies continues to grow its staff roster, announcing today that Christine Hennessey will join the firm as a Director. Hennessey comes to Narrative from Capitol Hill, where she has spent the last eight years as a communicator in both the House and Senate, most recently as Communications Director for Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE), working on various issues including healthcare, tax, technology, trade, the environment, and financial services. Hennessey is Narrative’s third senior hire in six months, following the additions of Zach Hunter as Managing Director and Jill Farquharson as Director. Narrative also announced Riley Doyle as the firm’s newest Associate, bringing its total staff roster to 24 after launching in September 2019.

“Christine’s extensive experience on both sides of the Capitol spans a broad array of issues and industries that are critically important for our clients,” said Narrative Strategies Founding Partner Ken Spain. “As demand increases thanks to a growing number of clients, our firm continues to add talented professionals whose sophisticated approach to communications leads to winning outcomes. The capabilities at Narrative are expanding to meet the needs of our clients and the market, as we build on our successful reputation of running large-scale campaigns. Christine’s skills will make an immediate impact, and we’re excited for her to join our team.”

Previously, Hennessey was the Press Secretary for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee. In 2019, she was elected by her peers as President of the U.S. Senate Press Secretaries Association (SPSA), a bipartisan group of current and former Senate communicators. Hennessey began her career on Capitol Hill working in the House of Representatives, originally for Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and later as Press Secretary at the House Energy and Commerce Committee. She also previously served in a communications role for the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. Hennessey grew up in Los Angeles and is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross.

Doyle joined Narrative Strategies as an intern in February 2021 and has played an essential role in designing and executing digital advertising campaigns. Prior to joining Narrative, Doyle interned with DSPolitical as well as REAL Strategies. She graduated cum laude from the George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs.
