WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Narrative Strategies announced a significant expansion of its in-house external engagement capabilities with the addition of Daraka Satcher as Managing Director. Satcher, who joins the firm’s senior leadership team, brings decades of private and public sector experience building coalitions and multifaceted advocacy campaigns. Noah Vieux, a Marketing Associate, and Sarah Flakus, a Strategic Communications Associate, also joined the firm.
Satcher is a deeply connected former advisor to senior government leaders across all levels of government. His career is marked by executive roles in the U.S. Department of Commerce, under the Obama Administration, where he served as a Deputy Assistant Secretary responsible for legislative and intergovernmental operations. Before his presidential appointment, Satcher spent eight years on Capitol Hill, culminating as the first Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Hank Johnson (D-GA-04).
“Daraka’s experience working with advocates and political leaders at all levels of government makes him the perfect person to lead our continued expansion of coalition and external engagement capabilities,” said Narrative Strategies CEO and Founding Partner Ken Spain. “His ability to forge consensus, engage key influencers, and leverage his strong relationships with on-the-ground stakeholders will add enormous value to the public affairs campaigns we execute on behalf of our clients. The additions of Noah and Sarah strengthen our full-service offerings and make Narrative even more nimble as we continue to grow.”
Most recently, Satcher served as the COO and EVP of Federal Affairs for Ohio River South, a government and public affairs agency based in Atlanta, where he successfully led high-profile tax and financial services campaigns, building coalitions and coordinating numerous third-party engagement efforts. Satcher has also managed several full-scale grassroots land development campaigns surrounding the use of a significant sporting arena within the Atlanta area. Satcher holds a JD from Emory University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Morehouse College. He currently serves on the Fulton County Board of Ethics and the board of directors for the Georgia District Export Council. Previously, he served on the boards of Voorhees University, the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, and the advisory board of Skyland Trail.
Satcher will continue to be based in Atlanta, Georgia, further strengthening Narrative’s southeast footprint, along with its recently announced office in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Noah Vieux joins Narrative as a Marketing Associate, and previously served as a public relations fellow at Curley Company. Vieux graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and earned a Master of Science in Management from Georgetown University.
Sarah Flakus joins Narrative as a Strategic Communications Associate and previously served as a Fellow at Seven Letter, producing diverse client research and content development products. Flakus holds a bachelor’s in Public Relations and Strategic Communications from American University.
