Washington, DC – Narrative Strategies announced today that it continues to expand its team with the addition of a top Senate communicator and two new associates. Jill Farquharson will join the Narrative team as a Director, and Madeleine Burke and Karin Scott have joined as Associates. Established in 2019, the firm has now expanded to 20 staff members.

Farquharson will join Narrative Strategies with extensive experience on Capitol Hill, where she currently serves as communications director for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee under Ranking Member Tom Carper (D-DE). Farquharson has also served in Sen. Carper’s personal office and on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Farquharson also brings campaign experience to Narrative, having managed Sen. Carper’s 2018 re-election campaign and served as traveling press secretary for former Sen. Evan Bayh’s 2016 campaign. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

“The Narrative team continues to expand with a commitment to provide our clients with top-level talent, strategic insight, and premium service,” said Narrative Strategies Founding Partner Ken Spain. “Jill’s understanding of integrated campaigns and the quickly evolving media landscape will add immediate value to our growing client roster.”

Karin Scott comes to Narrative with a background in corporate public affairs. She worked as a global public affairs intern at FedEx and a corporate communications intern for the Hospital Corporation of America. Scott graduated summa cum laude from the George Washington School of Media and Public Affairs, where she earned an Eckles Award for her research on the underrepresentation of female expert sources in political news stories.

Madeleine Burke joins Narrative Strategies with experience in both domestic and international affairs. Burke interned at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin, the Rizzo Dukes Group, and the Personal Care Products Council. She graduated with honors from the University of Richmond, where her thesis on social media’s influence in the 2016 Brexit vote was nominated for two departmental awards.

“As our business continues to grow, we are adding team members who can consistently deliver high-quality writing, analysis, and content development for our clients,” Spain added. “Karin and Madeleine are able to do just that, and their skill and work ethic are a welcome addition to our team.”
