Former Carlyle Group Partner and Director of Global Communications to Play Strategic Role in Growing and Expanding Client Services
Washington, DC – Narrative Strategies announced today the addition of Senior Advisor Chris Ullman, a former Global Partner and Director of Global Communications at The Carlyle Group. Ullman is a longtime communications professional and public affairs strategist with extensive experience in the financial services industry, the executive branch, Capitol Hill, trade associations, and advocacy organizations. Ullman will play a senior role at Narrative that includes driving business development, building strategies for executive leadership, and mentoring team members across the firm.

From 2001 to 2018 Ullman was an executive at The Carlyle Group, where he was a Global Partner and Director of Global Communications. Ullman’s role at Carlyle included extensive experience working with private equity, hedge funds, private credit, and real estate portfolios. He led communications efforts to take the company public in 2012 and was a key advisor to the company’s founders, portfolio company CEOs, and other high-profile business leaders. In 2018, Ullman founded Ullman Communications, a strategic advisory firm that has counseled CEOs and executives across a range of industries on corporate communications strategy, brand development, crisis management, reputation management, and internal communications. Ullman will continue to lead his own firm Ullman Communications.

Ullman also worked in communications roles at the American Electronics Association and Citizens for a Sound Economy. Ullman earned his bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University, is the Strategic Communications Expert in Residence at High Point University, and is a four-time international whistling champion. He is the author of Find Your Whistle: Simple Gifts Touch Hearts and Change Lives and the upcoming book Four Billionaires and a Parking Attendant: Success Strategies of the Wealthy, Powerful, and Just Plain Wise.
